Macaroni and cheese please

9 Jul

So tonight we had oven fried chicken tenders (not found on pintrest), veggies (nothing special) and mac and cheese. click here to check out the pin/recipe.

I will say I changed a couple things. I used some heavy cream instead of the milk and I omitted the nutmeg. But that’s how I roll.

I had to make a roux and I’ve only made that one other time, well I guess technically it was two other times since I burnt it initially and had to start over but this time it was great. I’ve watch enough cooking shows to better understand where I went wrong back then.

So making this was sort of fun until I remembered I had to clean up the mess. I had so many bowls and things all over the place I sort of wish I had stage hands to come in like on chopped or something. Or maybe I just need to invest in a trash bowl like that rachael ray chick. Anywho, I made my roux, blended in the cheeses and spices and tossed in the pasta. I was pleased with my performance and certain I’d not be chopped.

Into the oven it went and in 25 minutes it was gooey and bubbling and just begging me to take a huge bite. So I did. And it was soooo good. The family ate it up and said it was the best mac and cheese ever. Sooo I encourage you to check it out and try it for yourself.

My hunny bunny has been on a search for a good Mac n cheese dish. 20 years ago, when he was in the army, he tasted the most devine Mac n cheese. He’s been on a search every since for something comparable to it. I’ll definitely try this one.
